Children’s Mental Health Week will be celebrated until 7 February. Since 2015, this much-needed initiative has raised awareness about the importance of giving children the tools needed to be healthy mentally and emotionally.

This year’s theme is Express Yourself. Self-expression is essential for mental well-being and can be a useful coping strategy for both adults and children. Children’s Mental Health Week runs several virtual sessions where parents and carers can discover ways of supporting children’s mental health through creative expression.

If you’re an Early Years educator, we encourage you to get involved and spread the word about this initiative. You can also visit the project’s website and browse through the Educator Resources section to find classroom activity ideas to help the young ones under your care express themselves through different creative activities.
